Gloria SL NVRAM issues

Good afternoon,

It concerns the following:
An acquaintance of mine recently spoke to me about his Bally Wulff Gloria SL gaming machine.
He had last used the machine about 10 years ago and now he observes the following error message after switching it on: NVRAM INIT ?
I subsequently replaced the 3.6 Volt Li-ion battery (no more voltage).
Unfortunately, no change.

I have some additional information that may be important for a correct diagnosis.
My acquaintance told me that the device stopped after inserting a two euro coin.
After this, the device never functioned again and was switched off.
Recently, the device was switched on again, resulting in the NVRAM error message.
Between these two moments, there is about 10 years.

I have looked at the device on the inside and two resistors (R48 and R49) on the LP Display Board appear to have become quite hot.
However, the resistors are still good (both 270 ohms).

In addition, pin 1 or pin 10 (ground connection) of connector P615.02 on the LP Driver Board appears to have made bad contact, resulting in that connection becoming very hot and the connector partially melted.

However, I managed to repair all the connections from P615.02 to the LP Driver Board.

While dismantling the LP Display Board, the aforementioned two euro coin fell to the ground!
That coin may have caused a short somewhere on the LP Display Board.
How that coin got in behind the LP Display Board is beyond me.

However, I do not think that is where the cause of the NVRAM error message should be sought, but it is not unimportant to mention this whole incident.

I have not yet checked the supply voltages coming from the Power Supply.

Kind regards,
Hans Mesman

Hello,
The error message NVRam init means that the data has been lost.
The RAM lost his data due to the empty battery that you replaced.
This has nothing to do with the power supply or a resistor.

Hi Olli,

OK, that sounds very plausible and is to be expected.
Now the key question: how is this fixable?

You can't do anything yourself. This required special hardware.
Write to the user Heinoarts and ask him if he can do this for you.
